The Wisteria Theater located comfortably in the Gardens district positively buzzed with excitement over the evening’s festivities as the crowd eagerly awaited the mounting of the opera of the classic novel “I Went Where the Wyvern Fly.” Produced with the blessing of the esteemed author Ms. Henrietta Lynx, the author herself held a prized seat in one of the box seats, keeping the company of Ms. Hyacinth Disraeli, who also marked herself in attendance. The audience eagerly watched the pair for their reaction, splitting the attention between the wonders on stage with their glittering appearance.
Funded by a grant from the Pelham Foundation, the opera proved itself to be the talk of the town even before opening night, and the production itself met and surpassed all expectations. The finest of society could be easily spotted in the crowd opening night with Mr. Rivalin Adornus witnessed in his family’s reserved box seat, keeping the opera rather than the gambling table company. Ms. Branwen Culpepper and Ms. Sabine St. James kept each other’s company, the latter seeming to make commentary of the fine costuming and set design throughout the event. Spectators also noted her tour of the stage after the show, receiving a special guided journey across the boards. Meanwhile, Ms. Culpepper struck up what appeared to be a riveting conversation with Ms. Henrietta Lynx, a copy of “I Went Where the Wyvern Fly” held close to her person.
The somewhat reclusive Dialune family also made an appearance at the opening night, occupying their usually empty box seat. Rumored to be in attendance because of Mrs. Calliope Dialune’s love for “I Went Where the Wyvern Fly”, the family did not linger long after the finale, leaving before any mention might be made of their absent daughter.
“I Went Where the Wyvern Fly” is scheduled to run seven shows per week for the next month. Tickets are limited so patrons are encouraged to see the show at the soonest possible opportunity.
