Mayoral Estate, Auxentia City
In the wake of the latest brutal bombing campaign that destroyed a lumenstone refinery and leveled a city block, Mayor Cannongrove summoned representatives from each of Auxientia’s contentious factions to the mayoral estate to address inter-faction solutions to the troubled city’s direst problems.
Beyonders in Our Midst!
Also present at the summit were representatives of three beyonder nations from the lands outside Mutu Valley—ambassadors Malik of the Principality of Qadar, Marjorie of Riphagen Isle, and Victor MacGregor of Poyais. In the eleven years since the Six-Year Siege, the Parastin order has kept Auxientia’s borders closed to beyonder influence. The summit represented a rare interaction with the lands beyond Mutu, and the beyonder ambassadors alternatively appealed to the Auxientian representatives or laid their nations’ grievances before them.
Burglary and Corruption!
During the summit, unknown parties burglarized Mayor Cannongrove’s office. The burglars tipped off the Parastin faction to their findings, wherein Parastin protector Yeagan laid bare a chest of corrupted lumenstones as well as a trove of evidence against the (Mayor Shifter’s) previous administration, including human experimentation, embezzlement, unanswered diplomatic entreaties from beyonder nations during the Six-Year Siege, and collaboration with enemy beyonder nations during that same conflict.
Energy in Crisis!
Bāhira leaders called together a council of the factions to collaborate on Auxientia’s many issues. Foremost among these was Auxientia’s energy crisis. Bāhira faction leaders presented evidence that Mutu’s lumenstone mines had run dry. Representatives from Luciole Ltd. unveiled their new steam-powered technology as a solution. The factions unanimously agreed to preserve their remaining lumenstone reserves and proceed with Luciole Ltd.’s steam power plan.
Beyonders Attack!
Ambassador MacGregor of Poyais campaigned for the might of his nation at the summit, alternatively taunting and threatening delegates during the proceedings. Nevertheless, the ambassador met his death at the end of a wyvern’s tail when he tampered with the beast for reasons unknown. When ambassador MacGregor failed to rejoin Poyais’s delegation, his cohorts attacked the Auxientian summit, demanding MacGregor’s release. The beyonders were driven off by the Auxientians, however. Later, proof of MacGregor’s untimely demise was produced, mollifying the delegation of Poyais.
Bomber Arrested!
At the height of the summit, the bomber responsible for the recent devastation throughout Auxientia revealed himself. The bomber, Cassidy “Cas” Harris, claimed to have rigged the estate with bombs, which he threatened to detonate. The man claimed to follow Irons’s (Irregular faction) propaganda, detonating the bombs at strategic targets in accordance with his interpretation of Irons’s wishes. Irons talked the man down while Luther (Luciole faction) disarmed the bombs. The bomber was arrested forthwith, ending the bombing campaign.
Factions Unite!
An unlikely courtship between members of the Bāhira and Gilded factions ended in marriage, as Rivalin (Gilded faction) and Vyara (Bāhira faction) made their vows at the summit’s conclusion. Such a union may represent the symbolic mergence of Auxientia’s disparate factions. Amongst the wedding’s merriment and applause, Mayor Cannongrove concluded the summit, recognizing the factions for the work that they had done to unite Auxientia for a better future.
