Robert Irons, the radical who started a movement in labor demands just a few short years ago, is at it again. Irons has been seen in the last few months gathering workers outside a boulevard of facilities in Factory Row. These gatherings have been growing by the day to hundreds of workers picketing.
Those who dare cross the picket line to jeers, boos and physical threats have reported a growing deterioration in the conditions within the factories, an increase in abuse from foremen and impossible quotas to wear them down. Fear is rampant among the workers that Irons’ mob labeled “scabs” and the foremen alike.
Just last week, Irons threatened to shut down the factories and today he did just that. At his command, all six factories saw hundreds of men, women and children walk off the floor and out the door into the streets. The boulevard is chaotic as many refuse to go home until their demands are met.
How long will Robert Irons reign of tyranny last? When can good, honest people like the foreman and factory owners return to the work they are so passionate about?
