Law and Order Not Parastin Thugs!

1 min read

Fifty years ago, the Gilded, Irregulars, Luciole Ltd., and Bahira wisely enacted laws to at long last end Parastin patrols within the city, formally placing the Order at the border walls, where they belong. This regulation necessitated the creation of the first Auxientia police. Law and order prevailed and the city was better off for it.

Auxientia’s first police chief, Simone Striker wisely stated, “This city needs law and order, not vigilantes acting with impunity.” This was true then. It is true now.

Recently, vigilantism has reared its ugly head again as the Parastins were quick to forget their place in this valley. By exploiting a foolish loophole in the trade alliance with the beyonders that allows them security powers within the airship, Parastin thugs violently held up prisoner police officers at the barrel of a blaster, kidnapping wanted terrorist suspects known as the Men of Iron. To this day, the suspects remain captured in one of the Parastin towers. No doubt, the Ionad has leveraged his weight in the city council to legitimize this blatant crime. Are we to ignore this brazen flaunting of the law?

What’s more, disturbing allegations of torture have surfaced. A healer member of the Irregulars allegedly used their powers as enhanced interrogation techniques while in the presence of, and in cooperation with, Parastin guards. No doubt, the Parastin encouraged and prodded for the mistreatment. The Irregulars’ own co-leader was seen shooting a suspect in the knee that very same day while in the presence of the Parastin during a separate interrogation. This city cannot surrender law and order to what passes as vigilante justice doled out at the whim of Ionad Yeagan Bascia. The true Last Law must be that there is only one law enforcement in this city: Auxientia Police!
