The celebratory mood Friday night turned sour in Duhura Market as the body of Jordan Lambtree, a Parastin was discovered in the Gilded Wyvern. Members of all five factions and beyonder emissaries had gathered the night before the great airship launch. Unbeknownst to the guests, an assassin lurked in the shadows, targeting victims of the shadowy group known only as the Silent Partners. Poison was the weapon of choice as Lambtree’s body was found lurched over their tainted beverage. A sinister calling card identified the victim and the Silent Partners’ signature eye, sending a message that they are watching us at all times. Lambtree had been seen in Duhura Market the week leading up to their death at unity rallies and meetings advocating for a stronger city council with expanded powers. The city council was formed three months earlier, consisting of two members of each of Auxientia’s five factions.
The Silent Partners are a clandestine group of unknown size that has been operating in Auxientia by means of blackmail and debt to recruit members. The goals of the Silent Partners remains a mystery. Silent Partners engage their members in various activities from recruitment to murder. In most cases, instructions are delivered by proxy to hide the true identity of their leader(s).
Early this morning the bodies of Henry Lucas, Gilded and Sasha Roga, Bāhira found in their separate bedrooms by police murdered from asphyxiation. The distinctive calling cards near each victim were proof of two more names scratched off the assassin’s list. Both victims were vocal supporters of their factions and advocates for peaceful resolutions to differences between groups.
With the persistent rumor that a deadly assassin is working through a list of victims, citizens of Auxientia are asking “who is next and what can be done to stop the terror that stalks Duruha Market?”
