For the fifth straight week, Tomison Arow has sat at the top of Jurmo Bridge. Passersby see him day and night at his post. Auxientian police have spoken with him due to public concern, even once arresting Arow and placing him in jail for a night, but the next day the peculiar figure—long beard, bald head, dressed in a Luciole LTD. inventor’s costume with leather apron, hammer, tongs, and all—resumed his seat by the lamppost, where he sits and seems to stare into the river below.
“He isn’t causing any trouble,” said Auxientia Chief of Police Tanik Robard. “If Arow wants to sit at his post, he may do so, as a citizen of Auxientia. If he causes a public safety hazard, we will of course remove him. But we do not plan to take such action at this time.”
Arow was assistant head of micro-technology at Luciole Ltd. before he began his watch atop Jurmo Bridge. He no longer occupies this position, though he is still employed by Luciole Ltd. The company declined to reveal Arow’s current role within the company due to pending patents and confidentiality agreements, though representatives confirmed that he had an outstanding record of service with the company. One unnamed Luciole representative confided that Arow had always been a bit “funny,” and detailed an event whereby Mr. Arow, in the midst of what was to become the lumenstone screen, referred to himself only in the third person and wished to be called by a different name, “Doglus Bruha.” The spell ended when the project was complete.
Whether Arow is working on the next great piece of Auxientian gearsmithery from his post on Jurmo Bridge or whether he’s lost his mind completely, only time will tell.
