Non-Player Characters (NPCs)

Bilhanna, she/her, Bāhira NPC (Sara Robinson, she/her)

Bilhanna is one of the elders of the Bāhira Council that assists leadership within the Bāhira. She has lived most of her life in the Bāhira Highlands and has rarely come to the city of Auxentia unless absolutely needed. As a staunch traditionalist, she has pushed against integration into what many would call “modern society”.

Within the Bāhira, Bilhanna is known as a Story Weaver. She is a keeper of all the tales and deep traditions of the Bāhira people dating back to the beginning. Find yourself near a fire with her and listen to her tales. You ever know what you may learn.

Angela Mayhew, she/her, Irregulars NPC (Hilary Norton, she/her)

Angela Mayhew has lived in the Dunmeadow since she was a child. Her life followed the typical path of those who call themselves Irregulars. She took odd jobs here and there, learned a few tricks of the trade to make sure she had food in her belly every night, and relied on no small portion of luck to see the next day. Now, she passes on what she’s learned to the next generation of Irregulars, opening an orphanage of sorts where street children might sleep and learn a thing or two. Loyal to her friends, Angela keeps a careful watch over those she’s helped to raise, while her enemies know just how vengeful she can be.

Mason Proffit, he/him Parastin NPC (Marwan Prince, he/him)
Born the child of an arranged marriage between a blacksmith Parastin father and shrewd Gilded mother, Mason Proffit spent his childhood learning the business of trade and how to shoot & create magical weaponry. He crafted the first of many majestic swords imbued with magical powers based on the teachings passed down to him from his father.

During the Six Year Siege, Mason convinced his uncle Reeves to allow him to join the regiment of Parastins he led . A lone drifter after the war, Mason Proffit found he could not shake the tales of the legendary Lawgiver his uncle told him and other soldiers around campfires – tales of a man who had brought hundreds of outlaws to justice, using his wits before resorting to bullets or the blade.

Following a trail of clues from his uncle’s tales, Mason found himself home once more amongst the Parastin in the Thuaid tower in the north amongst the makers and crafters. Now pledged to the Parastin Order, Mason Proffit is known for his loyalty and being a highly skilled Parastin swordsmith. “Just as gunpowder ignites a pistol, the power of these swords ignites the soul!” His knowledge and respect for the craft and his discipline in philosophy binds him to the Parastin cause with outstanding loyalty. Mason is a welcome contribution in the fight for truth and justice; Veritas et Aéquitas!

Zora Sinclair, she/her, Gilded NPC, (Jordana Robinson, she/her)

Zora enjoyed a privileged upbringing as the only child of an aristocratic family and passed her  exam at a relatively young age. However, taking after her mother, she chose to follow academic pursuits rather than civil service.  She has recently gained a reputation for her studies of spectral phenomena and spirit communication. Depending on who you ask, her writings on these subjects are either insightful and well-researched, or eccentric nonsense.  But, regardless of how her work is perceived, she is still considered an influential socialite whose wealth and background opens doors and ensures invites.

Ariel de Rais, he/him, Luciole Ltd. NPC (Drew Breyer, he/him)

If there’s one word that epitomizes Ariel de Rais, it is ambition. Born an unfavored son of a barely known member of the Gilded and a disgraced Luciole inventor, Ariel worked his way up through the administration of the Hive with ruthless cunning, becoming the youngest ever to hold the title of Special Liaison to the Board of Directors.

Ariel holds no illusions about where his talents lie. His father was the scientist; Ariel is an executive. While able to hold his own on technical matters, Ariel is far more interested in making the most of what is instead of looking ahead to what might be.
The invention of the Vern drive and the creation of a labor union at the last Mayoral Summit led to significant upheaval among the upper echelon of the Luciole. In this time of transition, The Board looks to Ariel to squeeze every last drop of profit out of the Vern drive to make up for the costs of the union, while the inventors of the Hive hope to sway Ariel down a more compassionate road.

Plot Team

Plot Team members often observe as interactive arbiters in the game, should you need help in or out of character. They will be most recognizable by their all black clothing and notebooks when they are newspaper reporters getting “the scoop” on what’s happening in the city. They may observe you or pull you aside for an interview. However, sometimes Plot Team serve as costumed NPCs as needed.

Deana Vazquez (she/her), Grace Ortman (she/her), Cally Ahlin (she/her), Emry Sottile (he/they), Kham Riley (he/him), and Nathan Pease (he/him).
